Growing Peppers
The weather warms in my coastal garden and the transition to the summer garden begins. This year I planned to purchase a six-pack of ‘Red Beauty’ bell peppers from a local nursery. Every year they do very well in my garden, often persisting into December. But as businesses closed in California with the stay at home order I was only able to purchase two red bell peppers.
I had started seedlings for Baby Belle peppers with excellent germination using Seed Priming Tips which I wrote about recently. I’ll plant more of these peppers this year since I only have two ‘Red Beauty’ plants. The Baby Belle peppers have been very productive other years.
If you’ll be growing peppers in your summer garden here’s an excellent blog post at Harvest to Table by Steve Albert linked below. I also posted Tips on Growing Peppers last June as I put the plants in the ground.
