This basket, delivered yesterday to my friends Betsy and Ed, nicely summarizes the week’s harvests. It’s glory time in the garden.
This is an incredible year for broccoli side shoots. Some of them are like small heads.
Snow peas are abundant now. Lucy eats the ones at her level.
The potted lime tree yielded only a half dozen limes but I used one this weekend for Green Garlic Parsley Lime Flavor Bomb. Add olive oil to the ingredients in the title for a fabulous topping for broiled salmon.
Oranges are abundant. One of them was so large we ate it like a grapefruit. Today is my day to make marmalade–an all day affair.
More orange in the house–pincushion proteas (Leucospermum ‘Tango’) from my uncle’s flower farm in Valley Center.
