In My San Diego Garden and Kitchen 8-28-16
French sorrel and celery harvested for a salad last night. These grow in containers and are the only vegetables that I’m harvesting now. Our four raised beds have been deconstructed but I’m hoping to have the new beds ready by early October for the winter garden.
Small and large fruit harvests happened this week. A small harvest of blueberries occurs several times each week nearly year-round with only brief pauses. A hard pruning late last year prompted new growth and improved fruit production.
This week we harvested fifteen pounds of strawberry guavas and I processed them to puree over the weekend. To see how it’s done, check last week’s post here. I’m planning to make strawberry guava jam this week.
And to close, Ambridge roses with zinnias and feverfew.
