Second Season Garden: Cauliflower and Other Brassicas
October 24, 2013
Now onto the third of the four raised beds. The last few years I’ve squeezed in six cauliflower plants with the broccoli. This year I devoted the first raised bed entirely to broccoli.
Since there are so many brassicas I enjoy growing and eating, I’m devoting the third raised bed to cauliflower and other brassicas. The downside is that my brassica rotation goes from a four years to two years. Two purple sprouting broccoli will again go in 15 gallon pots since they get so large.
Here’s the rundown:
3 Brussels Sprouts ‘Long Island Improved’
See my earlier post Planting, Growing and Harvesting Brussels Sprouts
6 Red Cabbage 'Red Acre’
6 Cauliflower 'Snowball’
6 Purple Cauliflower 'Graffiti’
6 Red Kohlrabi 'Winner’
Can you imagine this…
…becoming this? Follow along in the Second Season Garden.
